About his life: Amnon Hoftman was born in Tel Aviv in 1947. At age 10, he
began work with wood sculpture and he also started to paint. When he was
age 25, he was turned on to art. About his work: Amnon creates his work by a sort of automatic vision. That is he does not need to see photos and be anywhere. He can paint only by what he envisions in his mind. His work is not inspired by anyone. His preferred medium is oil on canvas.
"These are my memories and perhaps also what I miss from my trips in Africa," Amnon said. Part of his paintings depict Judaism. He also paints about holy places from around Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Tiberias, Safed, the Galilee Sea, and the surrounding environs of the Galilee. His works contain ideas and concepts that combine to form his works. He loves treat multiple subjects together in the same work. Past Exhibitions:
